It is with great delight and gratitude to God that I warmly welcome you to Uyo City Polytechnic, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State Nigeria. Uyo City Polytechnic (UCP) metamorphosed from the former School of Accountancy and Business Studies, Uyo which was established in 1972 by Late Mr. J. S. Etukudo. School of Accountancy was changed to Uyo City Polytechnic by Dr. Emmanuel Ekott in 2003 and was accredited in 2012 by the National Board for Technical Education. The current Governing Council was reconstituted in 2019.
Uyo City Polytechnic offers Courses in Management, Engineering and Sciences. UCP has NBTE accreditation for National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy, Business Administration and Management, Public Administration, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
We therefore invite you to explore the outstanding teaching, scholarship, support, flexibility and a wide range of academic programs and extra-curricular activities which UCP offers. Since we are not oblivious of the dwindling job stocks and unemployment of the teaming youth population, UCP has a systemized entrepreneurship curriculum which is aimed at stimulating entrepreneurial thinking in students such that beyond their academic degrees and vocational skills acquired, they will be job creators and employers of labour. We also place high premium on information and communication Technology in all our programs.
